“The moment my child died, a hole was left in my heart the size of the universe.”

There is a kind of grief that changes everything. Losing a child reshapes your heart, body, and your sense of the world and it can feel incredibly lonely.
This retreat isn’t about “moving on” or “fixing” your grief. It’s about being with other mothers who understand, honoring your child and your love, and allowing space for tears, silence, and gentle connection while tending to your nervous system, your body, and your spirit. You don’t have to explain yourself. You don’t have to be strong and you don’t have to carry this alone.
Let us care for you this Mother’s Day weekend May 8-11 for 4 days, 3 nights overlooking the beautiful Penobscot Bay. We will offer nurturing experiences that invite you to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and the natural world. Through gentle accessible movement practices, we explore the body with curiosity rather than force.
Our creative art sessions will open space for expression and reflection. In Forest bathing we’ll immerse ourselves in nature, awakening the senses and restoring calm. Our gentle sound immersion, using soothing tones and vibrations will support deep rest and integration.
We will honor them and grieve them together.

As you tend your broken heart, how would it feel to …

  • watch the sun rise or set over the land and sea, or …
  • sleep in as late as you’d like … then
  • enjoy your coffee or tea while taking in the seascape … and maybe
  • walk in the woods or on the beach … or possibly
  • get a massage or have some energy work … and definitely
  • a nap!
  • And then perhaps read … or
  • take a meditative walk on the labyrinth … and then
  • write a bit in a journal or color or paint your insights … and if you feel super energetic
  • take a walk or run on local trails … or
  • enjoy stretching in a yoga or tai chi class … and to
  • take a sauna or rest on the biomat before enjoying …
  • delicious, nutricious, lovingly created meals and treats … while
  • meeting new friends, and if the weather permits …
  • sitting by the bonfire as the sun sets,
  • and so much more!
